Ukrainian Symbols Speaking the Language of Freedom: Gulliver Shopping Mall to Host an Exhibition of Daria Alioshkina's Paper-Cut Art in Support of "Lovchyky"
From July 19 to August 9, Gulliver Shopping Mall will host an exhibition of large-format paper-cut artworks (vytynanka) by Ukrainian artist Daria Alioshkina, titled "Talismans of Freedom." The project is being realized by Gulliver Shopping Mall in partnership with the charitable foundation "Tykho."The exhibition brings together seven large-scale lace-like works by Daria Alioshkina, one of Ukraine's best-known vytynanka artists. Created over the years, the works bring to life recognizable Ukrainian symbols: the Trident, the Tree of Life, birds, images of the earth and water, and ornaments and signs that have long been part of our culture. The exhibition will include the works "Kyivan Rus," "Trypillia," "To Freedom," "Vyrii," "Tree," "Modern / Shchedryk," and "Ornament." Each piece measures up to 2.5 meters. The artist explains that vytynanka is not merely an artistic image but a language of symbols that Ukrainians have long placed in their homes for protection, and notes that these symbols are now taking on new meaning as talismans and sources of strength that help people through difficult times. For all of us, this exhibition is another opportunity to combine Ukrainian culture with support for those who especially need care and attention. Alongside the exhibition, a fundraiser will run in support of the "Lovchyky" project - educational trips for the children of servicemen from the 46th Podilska Brigade who were killed, taken prisoner, or went missing in the war.The "Talismans of Freedom" exhibition will run from July 19 to August 9 at Gulliver Shopping Mall in Kyiv, in the Central Atrium on floors 1-2.Admission is free.Address: Gulliver Shopping Mall: Kyiv, Sportyvna Square, 1-A.Project organizer: Gulliver Shopping MallProject partner: charitable foundation "Tykho"
